See here for more information on our juices.

I am pregnant, can I still do a juice detox?

No, we do not recommend that unless you are doing so under medical supervision. Also, if you are breast feeding then seek medical advice before undertaking a juice detox. Some detox ingredients, such as maca, are not suitable if you are pregnant or breast feeding.

What if I am allergic to one of the ingredients?

If you are allergic to a particular food then we can replace it with something else that better suits your needs.

I am a diabetic. Can I still do a juice detox?

You will need to consult with your GP before doing one of our courses.

How do you start eating again after a juice fast?

Please see here for our detailed guidelines on completing a juice detox programme.

Can I drink tea while on a juice fast?

You can drink herbal teas such as fennel, nettle and dandelion. However, tea and coffee (and also green tea) contain caffeine and so we do not advise drinking these while detoxing.

Can I juice and still exercise?

Light exercise like gentle yoga and walking is encouraged as it improves lymphatic circulation which can help to reduce detox symptoms such as headaches or mental fog. However, intense exercise should be avoided while you are detoxing. Please see here for our detailed guidelines on completing a juice detox programme.

What type of detox symptoms can I expect?

The amount of discomfort you experience in a juice detox is usually tied to the current state of your diet and lifestyle. Most often, a one day fast experience should not be too tough. However, if you are used to stress, stimulants and poor nutrition then you may temporarily experience some of the following symptoms:

  • Constipation

  • Headaches

  • Mental fogginess

  • Fatigue

  • Insomnia

  • Skin breakouts

  • Headaches

  • Strong emotions

  • Very stinky wind

Also, if you have recurrent health issues (e.g. eczema, acne, sinus issues) then they may get worse before getting better.

I have been detoxing for two days and I feel dreadful. Is this normal?

Sometimes during a fast, our bodies pull toxins from our cells and tissues faster than we can eliminate them. The rapid release of toxin buildup out of the cells and into the circulation system, en route to elimination, may lead you to experience some uncomfortable detox symptoms. If these symptoms are particularly unpleasant then don’t worry, you can reduce the impact of these symptoms whilst continuing your detox.

Continue with your detox plan but, in addition to your detox juices, you should start to introduce some raw foods (e.g. a salad with lemon juice or a clear cleansing vegetable soup).

Please see here for our detailed guidelines on completing a juice detox programme which gives further suggestions on how to slow down detox symptoms.

Should I take any supplements while juicing?

Yes, we recommend taking fibre supplements. As our bodies detoxify, the liver releases toxins into the digestive tract. Ensuring that you have adequate fibre during your detox will assist the digestive system in soaking up these toxins so that they can be more easily removed from the body during elimination.

If we do not have sufficient fibre during a detox then the body will reabsorb the toxins which is counterproductive to the detox programme.  We recommend using psyllium husks or apple pectin fibre.

I am 16, can I do a juice detox?

To complete one of courses you need to be aged 17 or above.
