Absolute Body Group Training and Fitness Classes

Group Training

Train in a small group (maximum 6-10 people per session), be pushed to your absolute limit and receive more personal attention than a class setting. The small group training sessions are ideal for people who may:

(1) Prefer group training to an individual session

(2) Prefer the value for money advantage which group training has to offer

(3) Find they work harder and train harder in a group setting

(4) Like the idea of group training but struggle to pin down a time and date with family and friends

There are three types of group training sessions available: The Belly Blaster, Hot PHIIT and Legs Day. The session types have been designed to address the needs of popular personal training fitness goals. Please see below for more information on each training session.

Absolute HIIT

Not all cardio exercises are created equal! Studies have shown that people who participate regularly in 20 minute High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) can lose more body fat than those who participate regularly in steady state 30 minute cardio exercise classes.

Although HIIT classes provide the same benefits as continuous endurance workouts, such as improved cardio fitness, weight management and strength improvements, HIIT classes have been shown to burn more calories after the workout is complete. This post-class calorie burning effect is known as “EPOC” (Excess Post-exercise Oxygen Consumption) which occurs up to two hours post-exercise when the body is restoring itself to pre-exercise levels and, consequently, using more energy. HIIT classes can increase EPOC by up to 15% compared to steady state exercise classes. Basically, in a HIIT class you can workout for a shorter amount of time whilst burning more calories and body fat!

Group Training: Hot PHIIT

Thursday at 8.00pm (45 Minutes)

PHIIT – High Intensity Interval Training with a Pilates twist

PHIIT has got it all: mobilisation, stabilisation, movement and strength in addition to it being a fantastic full body, cardio, core and fat burning workout. Clients will use a variety of Pilates props in a hot interval training session whilst maintaining a focus on core engagement, breath, scapula and pelvic stability and movement control.

The Hot PHIIT group session is suitable for clients who’s fitness goals include…

(1) Fat loss

(2) Improving cardiovascular fitness

(3) Increasing overall strength

(4) Improving core strength

(5) Rebuilding fitness following time out from an injury or pregnancy

(6) Managing chronic conditions such as back pain

Group Training: Legs Day

 The ultimate leg workout…

Legs Day is a non-hot, cardio intense, calorie burning HIIT session targeting the lower body. Forty blissful minutes of squats, kettlebell swings, lunges, deadlifts, bench steps, plyo jumps, side lifts, and quadrupe glute kicks. Work your quads, hamstrings, glutes, inner thighs, outer thighs and other lower body muscles you didn’t even know you had!

Leg muscles are big muscles and by working them as part of your training you’ll burn more calories in addition to getting the shape changes you want to see. The Legs Day session  is designed to get your heart pumping so you’re burning fat whilst toning and defining the leg and glute muscles.

Group Training: The Belly Blaster

Monday at 5.00pm & Friday at 4.45pm (40 Minutes)

Work your core like you’ve never done before! Get the waist you’ve always wanted with a whole new way to tone your belly. The Belly Blaster is a cardio intense, fat zapping  waist-whittling session that will tighten and tone your tummy fast. 

Sit ups and bicycle crunches are out! Multi-plane dynamic exercises are the new black. Paying too much attention to the strengthening of muscles in a forward and back motion (e.g. the sit up) neglects the importance of planes of motion, range of movement and flexibility when it comes to exercise.  

If your muscles are tight and your ability to move freely is limited then you won’t get full range of movement in an exercise. In addition, focusing on forward and back exercises and neglecting the importance of side to side and rotational movements means you will never get the results that you are training so hard to achieve.

In The Belly Blaster session you will train rotational and contralateral movement, work the anterior and posterior obliques and improve core mobility with exercises such as Bulgarian bag swings, tornado ball swings, barbell core training and kettlebell rotation swings.
