Welcome!

Hi! I'm Kate, owner and main teacher at Absolute Yoga, and I’d love you to begin or continue your yoga or Pilates practice with us.

I’m not a naturally bendy, super fit, ethereal whisp of a woman. I have been that person in a class who feels like they’re made of tin and is so anxious they can’t think straight. So if you’re feeling apprehensive about getting started then know that I have been there too and it informs how I run this studio and everything that we offer. When you arrive for your first class, I’m expecting you. If you tell me about yourself, I’m listening.

Our classes are intended to give you the opportunity to explore you and how you want to move and breathe, whether we’re practicing a more dynamic style of yoga, working out mindfully with Pilates or exploring calm, soothing yin yoga.

This is your body, your practice and we’re here to support you.

Perhaps you just want to move your body; maybe you want to find some inner peace and calm; perhaps you want to focus on improving strength, balance, fitness and flexibility or posture, or you just want to do something for yourself.

You can find all of that, and more, here in our warm, welcoming, softly lit studio. All of our classes are beginner friendly & we have spare mats if you don’t have your own.

  • Beginner friendly, dynamic classes focusing on strength, flexibility and balances, usually involving sun salutations, balances and binds.

  • Beginner friendly, Pilates classes focused on strengthening the back, core and major muscle groups as well as building stability, focus and control.

  • Beginner friendly mindful movement, gentle strengthening and some passive supported poses.

  • Using pregnancy yoga techniques such as breathing, soundwork and movement this nourishing class will help you in all stages leading up to birth and into post-partum

  • This is a warm, candlelit, soothing, nurturing hour, which includes bolsters, blocks and eye pillows to support and calm the body, mind and nervous system.

  • Chair Yoga is great for those who can’t or don’t want to attend regular yoga or fitness class due to age, health issues, injury, limited mobility or any other reason

    Women's Cosy Yoga Afternoon

    Sunday 7th December, 12-3pm, £25

    Join me, Kate, for a Sunday afternoon of deep, healing release and relaxation. Completely beginner friendly, you are invited to soften into each floor based yin yoga pose for 4-8 minutes, supported by bolsters, blocks, eye pillows and sandbags. We end with yoga nidra.

    This is 3 hours of calm, peaceful, deep release and relaxation. Wear your most comfortable clothes, bring a pillow/cushion and blanket. This is just a relaxing afternoon of gentle yoga and relaxation with other lovely women - what’s not to love!

    Women’s Gentle Yoga Day Retreat

    Join me and Joanne Huddart for a relaxing, gentle yoga day retreat in a beautiful city centre location in May 2026. This is a day of gentle yoga, yin yoga, meditation, yoga nidra and time to yourself.

    All classes are optional and everything is beginner friendly. Lunch is provided.

    This retreat is now fully booked.

    Contact me or catch me at the studio if you would like to be added to the waiting list (things happen and people have to rearrange so a place or 2 tend to come up) and/or my mailing list (infrequent, friendly emails letting you know about upcoming courses, retreats and special classes).

We have plenty of payment options including

  • pay per class £11

  • unlimited taster month of classes £50

  • no contract memberships £40/£50/£80 per month

  • class bundles of 10 classes for £85 (valid for 8 weeks) or 20 classes £155 (valid for 6 months)
